Ah, September. The leaves are changing, the elk are rutting and the temperatures are mild. This month celebrate Constitution Week in Grand Lake where you can enjoy guest speakers, nationwide Constitution Week trivia, a parade, a BBQ Competition & Music Festival, and fireworks over Grand Lake. Don’t miss other exciting events such as Rocky Mountain Repertory Theater’s fall show, Pump Boys and Dinettes, a Golf Tournament, Taking Steps for Cancer and more!
On September 15th join us at the Grand Lake Golf Course for Pancho and Lefty’s Golf Tournament benefiting Mountain Family Center’s Cancer-Related Services.
Our 7th Annual Constitution Week celebrations begin on Monday, September 17th. Enjoy a variety of events all week long. These events conclude on Saturday, September 22nd with a parade at 11:00am, and the Kansas City BBQ Society BBQ Competition at noon in Town Park. The BBQ Competition & Music Festival will be followed by festivities in Town Park until 6:30pm ending with a fireworks display over Grand Lake at 8:30pm.
On Friday, September 21st delight in Old Glory: American Folk Songs For Constitution Day at the Grand Lake Community House. The Grand Arts Council is partnering with Peggy Mann to present Tenor Michael Hoffman & Pianist Jerimiah Stephen Otto. Doors open at 6pm for the concert from 7-9pm.
On September 30th be a part of the Taking Steps for Cancer 5K & Auction from 8am-3pm. All proceeds benefit cancer-related services for Grand County residents in need. Join us for a day of food, music and fun. Register by September 20th to ensure you receive your T-shirt!
While visiting Historic Grand Lake be sure to step back in time at the fascinating Kauffman House Museum. This 1892 restored rustic Victorian hotel is open 11a-5pm on weekends in September. Tours are included in the price of the $5 admission, which is a fantastic deal when one considers all the wonderful displays and stories to be seen and heard.
