There are many reasons to be thankful this November. We’d like to start this month’s blog off by saying that we are very grateful for our Veterans and are honored to offer 50% off all lodging to our Veterans for the month of November in recognition of Veteran’s Day!

Thanksgiving is fast approaching, but there’s still time to make your plans to visit Grand Lake. We have several exciting events happening the weekend following Thanksgiving!

Friday, November 23rd is Grand Lake’s Festival of Lights Ceremony and the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, starting at 5pm on Grand Avenue. Come and join the family fun as we sing carols and enjoy cookies, hot cocoa and a visit from Santa. Bring a decoration for the Town Christmas Tree and share the holiday cheer! Participating businesses will be lighting their window displays and keeping them lit until January 5th, 2019. Take in the creative holiday spirit while strolling our historic boardwalks in our winter wonderland setting.

Step back in time at the Kauffman Museum Open House from 1-4pm on Friday, November 23rd and Saturday, November 24th. The Kauffman house is an authentically restored rustic Victorian hotel, which will be festively decorated so the whole family may experience “Holiday Traditions Our Grandparents Taught Us!” Admission is $5 and includes tours, treats and fascinating family-friendly displays.

Visit the Holiday Craft Bazaar and burn off the Thanksgiving feast while shopping for unique gifts for you and your loved ones on Friday, November 23rd from 10am-5pm and Saturday, November 24th from 10am-4pm at the Grand Lake Community House.

The Grand Lake Nordic Center is gearing up for the winter season and Early-Bird Season Passes are now available. Save $25 on season passes purchased by December 10, 2018. Season equipment rentals are also available. The Nordic Center also offers lessons and a Free Kids’ Tubing Hill. Opening Day at the Nordic Center is set for December 1st, weather permitting.
