August’s sun shines and the weather’s fine in Grand Lake, Colorado! This month is jam packed with activities and shows. Be sure to mark your calendars and read on for this month’s highlights below!

The Grand Lake Historical Society is proud to present a variety of events for the month of August. If you’ve never visited the Kauffman House Museum, be sure to check it out this summer between 11am-5pm. The Annual Community Chicken Dinner at the Cottage Camp will be August 19th at 5:30pm. For just $15 for adults and $5 for kids, enjoy a chicken dinner with “all the fixins,” music from the old days, a campfire and marshmallows, and vintage cars.In addition to being a great place for recreation and exercise, the Grand Lake Center is also offering a Beginner Yoga Flow every Wednesday at 10am at the Grand Lake Center.

Listen and learn about Rocky Mountain National Park and the surrounding area on Saturday nights at the Kawuneeche Visitor Center! Topics and speakers vary week-to-week, and each event starts at 7pm. A Geology Tour of RMNP will be the topic for August 18th, and National Parks & You will be the focus for August 25th.

The 9th Annual Corvette Mountain Madness brings you the People’s Choice Car Show on August 18th from 10am-2pm. Vote for your favorite “Vette” and bring canned goods for our local food banks! The Colorado Corvette Club was founded with the idea of giving back to the community, and they do it in style! Proceeds from the event benefit the Mountain Family Center and Grand Beginnings.

BINGO! Try your luck for just $3 a card at Rotary Bingo, held every Friday and Saturday night from 7:30-9pm at the Louie Heckert Pavilion in Town Park. Each card plays 12 games.

August 31st is opening night for the fourth production of the summer season at Rocky Mountain Repertory Theater. Annie, A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder, and The Full Monty have been incredible shows this season, and Pump Boys and Dinettes is sure to be just as pleasing! Show starts at 8pm on opening night.
