It stretches an incredible 48 miles with a maximum elevation of 12,183 feet, so be sure to bring a map. As you slowly climb to this altitude, you will experience breathtaking panoramic views of the park and be able to gaze at the natural beauty it has to offer. And you will no doubt have some pretty incredible photo opportunities that you’ll be able to share later on!
This road is open from mid-June until the end of October, dependent on the weather.
Chasm Falls
One of the most popular features of Rocky Mountain National Park is the beautiful waterfalls the park has to offer. Many tourists love a hike through the wilderness and enjoy the relaxation of one of the many natural waterfalls.
Chasm Falls is one of the most famous waterfalls in the entire park to visit. The hike starts at the Endo Valley Picnic Area, and from there, it’s only a 1.4-mile walk.
In the summer, you have the option to drive to the waterfall instead of hike, but first, you will want to make sure the road is open before you set off.
See the Sunrise Over Grand Lake
If you want to see something genuinely spectacular during your vacation, watching the sunrise over Grand Lake is a must.
As the morning sun rises, you’ll have magnificent views of the mountain peaks in the background while the water sparkles on the lake. Not only is this one of the most incredible photo opportunities, but it will feel like you’re in a dream.
